AAstra SIP DECT 142 Handset

May 21st, 2008

Here is a question I got regarding the AAstra SIP DECT 142:
Does the SIP 142 is compatible with Nortel or other system?

The Aastra SIP 142 DECT is a part of a DECT system that deliver wireless connectivity to the organization. In order to use the SIP 142 you would need the AAstra Access point device either the

Aastra DECT RFP 32 NA or the Aastra DECT RDFP 43 NA (the last one is outdoor unit)

The above access points are SIP base protocol with the IP PBX that support SIP standard phones and they work DECT to the SIP 142 phones.

Here is sample configuration:

P PBX =>  Switch =>  Aastra dect Access point =>  Dect 142

So if you do not want to have Wi-Fi wireless IP phones on that uses the local network then you can use the Aastra DECT system as described above to use for voice dedicated wireless system.
