WiFi Phone / Wi-Fi IP Phone
WiFi Phones are Wireless phones that communicate either with base station or with wireless networks.
The Wi-Fi phones divided it to 2 main groups:
1. The Wi-Fi is used in a proproetry module to communicate with a specific network or system
2. The Wi-Fi phone uses as standard wifi that can communicate with any Wi-Fi network.
We would deal with the 2nd group - phones that uses the standard wi-fi to communicate with Wi-Fi network to make and receive VoIP/SIP calls over the network.
There are few manufacturers that have WiFi phone products each with its advantages.
The Wi-Fi Phone can either replace the IP Phone or be a Remote Extension to the Office IP Phone.
Some of the phones also have Cellular GSM Phone on it so when you do no have access to the Wifi network you can still communicate via the Cellphone module.
The PDA (Personal Digital Assistant) also have a WiFi dialer and some Cellphones that have build-in WiFi can have WiFi dialer to use for out going WiFi SIP/VoIP calls.
